Q: Why should I have my website professionally done when my brother's friend can do it for me for free?
A: This comes up a lot in our business. Ask yourself a few questions: Is your friend's brother a professional website developer? Does he have specialized training in creating web graphics and visually appealing sites? Look at it this way: If your car broke down and needed a new clutch, would you take it to a friend of a friend who is an accountant but likes to tinker with cars, or would you take it a certified mechanic?

Q: Do you charge by the hour or project?
A: Both: We give our quotations based on how much time we believe it will take. In the end, most of our potential clients want a bottom line cost, so that is what we give them, but it is based on how much time we estimate it will take.

Q: Do you have your own server and is it secure?
A: We do lease a server and it is located offsite at an environmentally controlled facility. It is also equipped with a power generator and is backed up nightly, and monitored 24/7. We have a secure certificate on it to encyrpt transactions for our e-commerce customers.

Q: Will you maintain my site and how much will it cost for monthly maintenance?
A: We offer 3 different options for website maintenance. As needed maintenance, a monthly maintenance contract (which entitles the client to a 25% discount on our hourly rate), and we also have a content management system to allow our customers to make changes via a web-based interface, themselves.

Q: How much will my website cost?
A: It is impossible to quote a price without knowing the details of your project. We will listen to you and determine a site which will best fit your needs and budget. We offer many different tools to choose from which may work for you and your business. You can start with something very basic and add features at any point in your site's life cycle, which is the beauty of the fluid medium which is the Web.

Q: What is meant by a meta tag?
A:

Q: What should I include in my site?
A:

  • What Your Service/Specialty Is
  • How to Reach You
    • Via e-mail
    • Phone number
    • A contact form
  • A bit about you and your company

Q: What do you need from me to start my site?
A: Here is a list of what we need from our clients to begin:

  1. Printed materials (brochures, flyers, catalogs)
  2. Electronic copy of any text which you want to include on the site. (If we have to type it, additional fees - $40/page, a page being an 8.5 x 11" sheet with 12 pt. type, single spaced.).
  3. Photographs if you have them
  4. Company Logo - if you have the original electronic art (on a disk), this is preferred
  5. Preferred color schemes
  6. Goals of your site
  7. Define who your audience is
  8. Categories (that would link from the home page which define how many sections are in the website)
  9. A signed Agreement and deposit

Desired but not required:

  1. An outline of your site
  2. Flowchart
  3. Examples of sites you have seen and like features of (printed with URL's)

Q: What about updating my site?
A: We have website maintenance plans available that we can tailor to your needs. It is important to keep current content on your site, and we can provide a solution that will work for you.

Q: I got a notice in the mail to renew my domain name. Does this mean I need to renew it?
A: There is a company called Domain Name Registration of America that sends out solicitations to get you to transfer your domain to their registration database. If you look at the notice carefully, you'll see it clearly stated "This is not an invoice." They charge $20 more a year than we do for our domain registration. If you want to find out when your domain name expires, go to and type in your domain name. You'll see the expiration date listed.

Q: What is a Domain Registrar?
A: A Domain Registrar is, simply stated, the company/website that you go to when you want to register your domain name, i.e. godaddy. We are a reseller for a domain registrar, Dotster.

Q: Which email should stuff go to?
A: mbriones@yourgreatwebsite.com
